Of all the movies that have been filmed at this location "TITANTIC" is by far the biggest hit. Here is a front section of the ship once used for scenes is now for guests and photos.

The FOXPLORATION Studios is set up to show you hands on exactly how these huge hits are made and get you involved in the process. In addition to showing you a ton of props and relics from the past movies, the FOXPLORATION Studios also has "hands on" sections which can get you in front of the camera just like the real actors do!

Mirrors used in filming can create a host of surreal images and special effects for movies. This is some of the film production equipment and behind the scenes tutorials that show you everything that goes into making a big screen movie.

This section of the Foxploration Studios is called the Cinemágico, which houses a variety of interactive exhibits, which allow visitors to experience hands-on movie making.
Exhibits include special visual and sound effects, model making, set construction, art design, editing, animation, cameras, lenses, lighting techniques and makeup.

The current Titanic exhibit has been expanded, moved into a new facility and renamed Titanic Expo. Actual props, sets and costumes from the blockbuster film, which was filmed almost entirely at Fox Studios Baja are on display. Visitors take a guided tour, learning the history of the ship and the making of James Cameron's Titanic. Other interactive exhibits and elements from deep submersible dives reveal the Titanic as it exists today on the sea floor.

A couple littel kids run toward the Xavier's School for the Gifted located within the park.
Kids of all ages can have fun with over 50,000 specially designed foam balls. A wild array of gadgets propel, rise, throw and drop foam balls all over the place in a never-ending, ever-changing cycle of fun.

How It All Started

"After a worldwide search for a cost-effective single location solution to the multiple production challenges and diverse demands inherent in making a large scale, construction-heavy film like Titanic, we realized that such a facility simply didn't exist. The creation of a new, full-service facility in close proximity to Los Angeles enabled us to film Titanic in one location, an accomplishment that speaks for itself."

Originally built for James Cameron's epic film, Titanic, Fox Studios Baja is a completely self-contained production facility designed with room for flexibility and expansion. Some of the world's largest stages and filming tanks work in conjunction with offices, scenery shops, dressing rooms, wardrobe facilities and other production areas to accomplish nearly all filming requirements. The complex is located on 40 acres overlooking the Pacific with more than 2,000 feet of oceanfront property, three miles south of the Mexican resort community of Rosarito and a mere 45 minutes south of San Diego.

Fox Studios Baja's unique location provides access to the dynamic technical and artistic expertise of both the United States and México. Numerous hotels and visitor services in nearby Rosarito are convenient for tourists and visiting production companies alike.

With the studios unobstructed ocean views and combined tank volume (in four tanks) of over 20 million gallons, the large stage space and onsite support, Fox Studios Baja is a premier facility for film work of any kind, water related or not.

Directions to The FOXPLORATION Studios in Rosarito

From the United States: Cross the border into México from I-5 or I-805 at San Ysidro and get in the third lane from the left. Follow the signs that direct you to the Scenic Road to Rosarito and Ensenada. After making a cloverleaf style turn the road parallels the border for about two miles, then heads up and down a steep hill where you will be alerted to exit to the right. The sign for this road will be "Toll Road" or "Scenic Road." Two miles later you will pass through the toll gate. Tolls are less than $2.50; toll areas all have clean restrooms. Rosarito is located about eight miles down the toll road

There are four exits into Rosarito. The last exit is the easiest one to use for Foxploration, it is located right before the second toll gate, 21 miles from the border. There is a sign there that reads, "La Paloma, Popotla, Calafia, Las Rocas." Exit to the right and then follow left (south) on the free road. Fox Studios Baja and Foxploration are at Kilometer 32.8 right before the huge white arch of Popotla.

Note: If you miss the last Rosarito exit for the free road (and it is easy to miss, so watch carefully), do not despair. At the second toll gate, there is a Pemex gas station and an AM-PM Mini Market. It looks identical to the ones in the U.S. You can drive through its parking lot (without having to pay another toll) and make a left turn onto the free road from there.

If you miss the exit and go through the second toll gate, drive to the next exit south. This exit will read, "Puerto Nuevo." Get off the toll road here. Take the free road heading north to Popotla and Fox Studios Baja.
